We would like to inform you that Interac will perform scheduled Firewall OS Patching maintenance on Sunday, July 26, 2026. This maintenance will affect financial institutions utilizing VPN tunnel connectivity with Interac services and is anticipated to last approximately 5 hours from 1:00 am Eastern to 6:00 am Eastern.
Maintenance Schedule: Date: Sunday, July 26, 2026 Time: 2:00 am to 4:00 am Eastern (outage window) Duration: Approximately 40 minutes of outage within the change window (due to firewall failover activity)
Service Impact (Deposits): During the maintenance window, merchants may experience delays as transactions may remain in the 'initiated' status instead of an immediate 'success' or 'failure'. Customers may notice intermittent difficulties in completing deposits via Interac or a delay in funds being credited to their online accounts. This is due to the temporary interruption in e-Transfer network connectivity caused by the firewall failover activity.
Service Impact (Withdrawals): The final payment process by banks may be delayed during the maintenance period. Customers may not see the withdrawn funds reflected in their bank accounts until full service resumes. Merchants will receive a successful API callback response for payout requests once funds are successfully credited to the customer's bank account.
Recommended Actions: - Prepare for potential brief interruptions in service during the 2:00 am to 4:00 am Eastern window. - Monitor our service status page for real-time updates.
