Update - Clarification on upcoming maintenance window

The scheduled maintenance on Sunday, 24th September, is an Interac system-wide update whilst they complete their annual Disaster Recovery (DR) testing. This will have an impact on all financial institutions that utilize their services.

The DR test is planned for Sunday, September 24, 2023, and is anticipated to last approximately 4 hours from 2:00 am EST to 6:00 am EST.

Service Impact (Deposits):

Merchants may experience intermittent delays during the above window where transactions remain in 'initiated' status rather than an immediate 'success' or 'failure'. For the end customer, this could manifest as an intermittent ability to complete a deposit via Interac or a lag in the appearance of the deposit amount in their account balance.

Service Impact (Withdrawals):

Payouts will continue to be processed as usual. However, the final payment process by the bank may be delayed. Customers will likely not see the withdrawn funds in their bank account until shortly after the queue clears once full service is expected to resume at 6:00 am EST. Merchants will receive a successful API callback response for payout requests once funds reach the customer’s bank account.
