To enhance system stability and ensure the continued reliability of services, Interac will be performing scheduled database maintenance in the Production environment on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Please find the details below:

Interac – Database Maintenance

Purpose: Server Patching - Exadata Patching Cycle Accommodation

Maintenance Window: June 28, 2026, 03:00 ET – June 28, 2026, 06:00 ET

Expected Outage Duration: Approximately 60 minutes (between 04:00 ET – 05:00 ET)

Environment: Production

Services Impacted: Interac e-Transfer

Impact on Transactions : Between 04:00 ET – 05:00 ET (Critical Outage Window)

e-Transfer: Will not be available for approximately 60 minutes as traffic will be stopped. Send, receive, and processing functionality will be unavailable during this period.

During the overall maintenance window (03:00 ET – 06:00 ET): Customers might experience intermittent latency issues.

Rollback Contingency
In the event a rollback is required, an additional approximately 60 minutes of downtime will be necessary.

Purpose: Interac DB Yearly Purge

Maintenance Window: June 21, 2026, 00:30 ET – June 21, 2026, 08:30 ET

Expected Outage Duration: Approximately 150 minutes (between 03:30 ET – 06:00 ET)

Environment: Production

Services Impacted: Interac e-Transfer

Impact on Transactions: Between 03:30 ET – 06:00 ET (Critical Outage Window)

Interac transactions will not be available for approximately 150 minutes as traffic will be stopped.

During this period, send, receive, and processing functionality will be unavailable, and customer transactions will be unsuccessful.

During the overall maintenance window (00:30 ET – 08:30 ET): Customers might experience intermittent latency issues.

Monitoring - We are pleased to confirm that transaction processing has returned to normal and has remained stable since 01:47 ET. Our teams continue to monitor the environment closely, and no further issues have been observed.

Investigating - We would like to inform you that we are currently observing an increase in the number of transactions remaining in a pending status.

Our initial investigation indicates that the issue is related to an intermittent communication disruption between the processing bank and the Interac network, which is impacting the timely completion of some transactions. As a result, certain transactions may take longer than usual to receive a final status update.

Our technical and operations teams are actively working with our banking and network partners to investigate the root cause and restore normal processing as quickly as possible.

At this time, we recommend monitoring pending transactions and avoiding any manual intervention unless specifically advised by our team. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
